Where did you gain your Pharmacy expertise?

Upon graduation, I visited my childhood pharmacy for a career discussion with a pharmacist, Gene Thompson who inspired me to pursue a pharmacy career in order to provide service to the community. I completed pharmacy school in 2007 at Wingate University School of Pharmacy as a part of the inaugural class, then in 2008 I completed a community pharmacy residency through Wingate University School of Pharmacy and Kerr Drug in Lenoir, NC. I worked as a clinical pharmacist at the Kerr Drug in Concord, NC where I later advanced to managing the enhanced clinical services for the West Region of Kerr Drug. I was fortunate to be apart of Kerr Drug’s transition to Walgreens.

What are some hobbies you CARE about outside of TrueCare Pharmacy?

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, playing golf, and cooking.

Why are you connected to the Concord community?

In 2015, I partnered with Josh Young to create TruecareRx and begin working full time at Cannon Pharmacy Concord. I enjoy helping our patients with their healthcare needs and have a passion for Diabetes education and addressing patient non-adherence to their medications.

Why do you love what you do?

The relationships with my patients and coworkers are what I value most about my profession. Working to advance the profession of pharmacy is a passion of mine as well as working with government affairs organizations to promote and fight for the pharmacy profession.

Where did you gain your Pharmacy expertise?

I began my higher education at the University of Tennessee and completed my doctor of pharmacy degree at Wingate University School of Pharmacy in 2018. I have been with the company since 2017, and have been a student, intern, floating pharmacist, and now staff pharmacist with Cannon Pharmacy, now Truecare Pharmacy. I currently am a staff pharmacist with a focus on clinical services at Truecare Pharmacy.

What are some hobbies you CARE about outside of TrueCare Pharmacy?

Outside of the pharmacy, I enjoy home improvement projects, spending time with my family, and attending motorsports events with my husband. We are blessed to have found ways to combine our two passions by using the motorsports industry to help fundraise for disease-state research dear to our hearts.

Why are you connected to the Concord community?

I am originally from Tennessee, but my husband and I decided to move to the Charlotte area (specifically Concord) because it is the home of NASCAR racing. He knew he wanted to work in racing, and I knew I wanted to work as a pharmacist in a smaller community. Concord met all of our desires and more. We could not image living anywhere else and are enjoying being able to build strong relationships in this community.

Why do you love what you do?

My focus is the expansion of clinical services and growing the opportunities for pharmacist involvement in patient-centered care. As pharmacists, we are more easily accessible than other providers, and I wish to use this to provide more sources for our patients. With these opportunities, my hope is to grow our patients’ confidence in managing their disease states and improving their health. I value the relationships I have built with our patients here, and look forward to building more meaningful relationships as we are able to help patients in a wider capacity going forward.

Where did you gain your Pharmacy expertise?

Originally from Mooresville, NC I graduated from Campbell University with a Doctor of Pharmacy, Master of Science in Public Health and Bachelor of Science in Clinical Research. I am currently a staff pharmacist at TrueCare who focuses heavily on innovation, clinical expansion, and genuine patient care.

What are some hobbies you CARE about outside of TrueCare Pharmacy?

Outside of pharmacy you can find me spending time outdoors with my wife, Brannigan, and two sons, Grayson and Levi. I am constantly exposing myself to new experiences. You can find me in my element coloring pictures with my kids, building a cabinet, counseling patients, crunching excel spreadsheets and listening to podcasts.

Why are you connected to the Concord community?

After graduating in 2020, I am so glad to be back where I am from to get back to work and serve the community in a meaningful way that offers the most impact possible. The work at school was not the end – it was only the beginning, and I couldn’t be any more excited.

Why do you love what you do?

I have found that the independent community pharmacy setting is the perfect blend of each of these to help drive our healthcare system forward by providing our immediate community with the help and genuine care that it desperately needs.

Where did you gain your Pharmacy expertise?

I completed all 6 years of undergraduate and pharmacy school at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA—GO STEELERS!

What are some hobbies you CARE about outside of TrueCare Pharmacy?

Outside of TrueCare pharmacy, I enjoy staying active with fitness and spending time with my 3 children: Maya (8), Sophia (6), and Logan (5). I also love sports, especially lacrosse, as I played D1 lax throughout pharmacy school. In the fall time, I enjoy hiking and camping and skiing during the winter months.

Why are you connected to the Concord community?

Charlotte is my home away from home and I truly love the “southern” charm and hospitality it offers. I toured Charlotte on a fall weekend of my last year in pharmacy school and immediately fell in love with the beautiful weather, scenery, and welcoming nature of complete strangers. Charlotte is such an “outdoorsy city” which fits my lifestyle perfectly and I love raising my children in this atmosphere.

Why do you love what you do?

I love my job as a pharmacist because of the difference I can make in someone’s life daily! I am a people person and love gaining that connection with patients on both a professional and personal level. I have learned so much throughout my 13-year career and love that there are endless possibilities of growth and development. I’m excited to see how the future of pharmacy unfolds!

Where did you gain your Pharmacy expertise?

Graduated from Albany college of pharmacy. I began my Pharmacist career with CVS pharmacy, then the US ARMY before finding my final pharmacy home within TrueCare Pharmacy.

What are some hobbies you CARE about outside of TrueCare Pharmacy?

You can find my on the playground or vacationing with my husband & sweet, lovely daughters. I love spending time with my girlfriends and having play dates with our children. My most favorite holiday is Halloween!

Why are you connected to the Concord community?

While visiting my husbands family over a decade ago in concord, I fell in love with the Charlotte area and always dreamed of moving here. We moved here only a year ago from central NY. New to the area, I fell in love and so strongly related with the Truecare pharmacy values.

Why do you love what you do?

I can go on and on! I would have to say the reason I love what I do is the people I meet every single day, getting to know my patients on a personal level and helping them on their path. The best feeling is helping a patient and seeing their success and reaching a goal within their health plan. Whether it be their success as losing weight, stopping tobacco, or just improved breathing, to name a few. To see their accomplishments is the reward I get.
